2001 K5TR ARRL 10 Meter Contest, Phone Only

I was invited to guest operate the 2001 ARRL 10 Meter Contest, Phone Only, at K5TR. George Fremin III K5TR lives near Johnson City, TX, about sixty kilometers due west of Austin, TX. It was a lot of fun. I ended up in fifth place, W/VE.

	This is the best photo to see the deluxe K5TR headset. George took an AKG headset and grafted a Heil microphone boom from a destroyed Proset. The irony is that I was the one who destroyed the Heil Proset. Actually, that isn't really ironic.
	This must have been early Saturday morning. I showered both mornings, but otherwise spent as much time sleeping as I could. I didn't bother shaving.
	Staring down the camera. The magazine on the table was some light reading in the ten minutes or so while I was eating breakfast.
	For this contest, George set up the two Kenwood TS-850SATs so that the when the left radio transmitted, the right radio switched out of receive. This let me use the right radio as a second receiver, connected to a dipole. For the most part, I used it on my transmit frequency for diversity reception.
