- VE2AEJ/3 performed experiments in 1977-1979 recording many
LDEs on 14, 21, and 28 MHz, made beaming west from Ottawa at band openings.
- The delays on LDEs recorded on 28 MHz show a periodicity of 138ms,
the length of time required for a single circuit of the earth.
- Proposed a theory that the signal gets trapped in a duct, possibly
between the E and F layers, only to be reflected back to the transmitting
station off the ion trail of a meteor. Any Doppler shift would be small.
