Solar Cloud Hypothesis

• Hypothesis: Plasma clouds ejected by the sun reflect the signals.

• Plasma clouds typically travel at 1000 km/s, so any reflections would entail significant Doppler shift.

• Such clouds would produce substantial QRN on the HF bands, which has never correlated to reported LDEs.

• The geometry would have to be just right to avoid Doppler shift.
